IBM Global Entrepreneur Invites Startups for SmartCamp Challenge for DeepTech

IBM Global Entrepreneur now announces the last of its Industry Focussed Startup challenge, called the IBM SmartCamp for DeepTech after successful completion of its Fintech, Healthtech and Smart City challenges.

The IBM SmartCamp for DeepTech is inviting startups less than 5 years old, doing innovation in areas like IoT, Big Data & Analytics, Security, Storage, Mobile, Cognitive, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Social or Cloud Infrastructure that can be used across various industries.

The top 10 innovative companies in the space in India will be presenting to a panel consisting of VCs, IBM Execs, eminent people in the industry, where they will be getting feedback on their solution. These companies will also be presenting to Enterprise CIOs and an audience of 200+ people.

IBM Global Entrepreneur is the Startup initiative of IBM. They engage with Startups in providing them with Cloud credits worth $24000 / year on IBM Bluemix (which represents IBM Softlayer as well). They also provide technical mentoring, assist with go to market, work with accelerators in India. They engage with large enterprises in helping them finding their next set of innovations.

Last year they conducted India`s biggest B2B Startup challenge called IBM India Smartcamp 2015, where they went to 9 cities, with 3 Regional Finals and a Grand finale. Had 50+ VCs, Angel Investors, IBM Execs as Panelists. More than 60 CIOs participated in that. The finalists are leveraging this to get Customer leads as well secure funding.

Sirionlabs who were the winners of SmartCamp 2015 edition raised a funding of $12 million couple of months back.

This year they conducted a SmartCamp for Fintech Startups in association with Edelweiss, where some of the best innovations in the Fintech participated who again got benefited by Customer leads, exposure in Media as well investment opportunities from VCs. You can view the list of finalists here.

Winner of IBM Smartcamp for Fintech, Fisdom recently raised a funding of $1.1 million. This was followed by Smartcamp for Healthtech, which they are conducted in association with Manipal Hospital and THub. The penultimate in the IBM Startup challenge series is the IBM Smartcamp for Smart City, whose grand finale is happening day after tomorrow in Delhi, where one can again expect some of the best innovations in Energy, Agritech and Smart City space to showcase their solutions there.
