Snapdeal Receives Over $21M from Clouse SA
Snapdeal has recently received an infusion of $21 million from Luxembourg-based investor, Clouse SA. The transaction is a part of $200 million Series J round which it had announced in February 2016. Prior to that it had raised $500 million in a round led by Alibaba in August 2015.
The company had reported GMV of roughly Rs.600 crore in July 2016, a decline of over 50% from the sales numbers it had been generating in December 2015. This is against the close to Rs 2000 crore in GMV Amazon and Flipkart were clocking in July. Domestic Help Aggregation Startup Didi Raises $550K in Pre-Series A
Mumbai-based help booking service Didi (mydidi.in) has raised $550,000 in a pre-series A round of funding from a consortium of undisclosed investors, which includes former McKinsey Directors and Partners. The firm provides a platform to book on-demand household help on a pay per hour basis.
Didi was founded in June 2015 by Jhonny Jha, Sagar Sen and Akshay Agarwal. It was selected in AWS Activate (Amazon web services), Microsoft BizSpark Plus, and Google Launchpad Accelerator. Read More
Photo Sharing App Plix Raises $500K
Gurgaon-based media sharing app startup, Plix, has raised $500,000 in investment from Instalabs. The social sharing app is driven by facial recognition technology that informs users if any of their friends haven’t shared any picture or video with them in it.
Plix was founded in 2015 by Apurv Chawla, and was opened to the public last Monday. it claims to have 80,000 users who have shared over 3 million photos and videos till date. Read More

Mumbai-based Nearfox, that provides location specific content & places discovery platform, has raised an undisclosed amount in seed investment. The investors who participated in this round include Globevestor Angel Fund, CoverFox CTO Devendra Rane, GenY Medium Co-founders Ravi Jain, Craftsvilla Products VP Arpan Nagdeve and others.
