Snapchat Acquires 3D Photo App Seene
California: Social Networking platform Snapchat has reportedly acquired 3D photo app Seene. According to a leading media publication, this was a low priced deal and was made a couple of months ago, though neither has confirmed the deal.
Seene makes “computer vision technology” for mobile devices, including 3D scene reconstruction, object tracking, augmented reality, and 3D face capture—the latter of which is a very Snapchat-friendly quality. The system launched in September within the Seene app, and promises real-time, high-resolution 3D facial capture on iOS and Android. Read More
Voonik Technologies Acquires Zohraa, Styl and Picksilk
Bangalore: Voonik technologies that operates fashion app Voonik announced the acquisition of Zohraa, marketplace for designers and boutiques. This Bangalore based startup has also acquired Styl and Picksilk, to strengthen its core offerings in technology and product. The size of the deal was not disclosed. Voonik claims that its core app which caters to women has 8 million app downloads, 10 million registered users and the highest engagement among shopping apps. Read More
