Crowdfunding Platform Impact Guru Raises $500k from RB Investments and Fundnel

Mumbai-based Impact Guru which is a crowdfunding startup, has raised a Seed round of $500K from Singapore VC, RB Investments and Southeast Asia private fund, Fundnel. The funds will be utilized to to scale social/donation crowdfunding (online) for nonprofits, social enterprises and personal causes.

Incubated at Harward Innovation Lab’s Venture Initiation Program in USA in 2014, Impact Guru offers a full stack crowdfunding solution that combines social or donation crowdfunding, rewards crowdfunding, and investment crowdfunding / fundraising for individuals, nonprofits, social enterprises, or startups for all their fundraising needs – be it small or large.

The company which has been co-founded by Piyush Jain, Harshavardhan Bothra and Kelvin Lee, has offices in Mumbai, New Delhi, Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and San Francisco.


Wedding Solutions Providing Platform The Wedding Brigade Bags Rs 4 Crore in Pre-Series A Round of Funding

The Wedding Brigade, a one-stop destination to discover, plan and shop for Indian weddings, has raised Rs 4 Crore in a Pre-Series A round of funding led by Blume Ventures, with the participation of four other angel investors.

The capital infused into the venture will be allocated towards enhancing product and services offerings, growth activities and acquiring talent. The Wedding Brigade was earlier known as Indear, and has received rave reviews for its online shop, which lets users purchase wedding apparel, jewelry, gifts and other essentials.

The company has recently introduced a services marketplace, which enables users to book venues, hair and make-up artists and mehendi artists online, or through its free expert concierge service. The platform has been launched for users in Mumbai and Delhi, and will soon expand to other cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai as well as introduce new categories such as photographers, caterers and more.
