Ninjacart Raises Rs 20 Cr from Accel Partners and Others
Bangalore-based Ninjacart, an online platform that connects farmers and brands to retailers, has raised Rs 20 crore in a funding round led by Accel Partners, with participation from Qualcomm Ventures, Singapore-based M&S Partners and ZopSmart, the parent of online grocer ZopNow.
Ninjacart was founded by Nagarajan, Sharath Loganathan, Kartheeswaran K K, Ashutosh Vikram, Sachin Jose and Vasudevan Chinnathambi, who have previously worked with companies like Taxiforsure, Ola, Commonfloor and Verizon in May 2015 as a hyperlocal grocery delivery company.
The startup, which helps supermarkets and kirana stores source fresh fruits and vegetables, staples and FMCG goods directly from farmers and brands, will use the freshly raised capital to hire talent, invest in supply chain infrastructure and technology.
Fashion App Wooplr Bags an Undisclosed Amount of Fund from the Founders of InMobi and Others
Bangalore-based style and fashion app, Wooplr has raised an undisclosed funding from Naveen Tewari, Abhay Singhal and Amit Gupta, all co-founders of InMobi, Piyush Shah, Chief Product Officer at InMobi, Raghunandan G, co-founder of TaxiForSure and Rajiv Mehta, former CEO of Puma India.The startup was founded in March 2013 by 4 ex-employees of McAfee, Arjun Zacharia, Praveen Rajaretnam, Soumen Sarkar and Ankit Sabharwal.
Wooplr claims to be profitable operationally.
Peer to Peer File Sharing App LetsReach Raises $500k in Funding
Gurgaon-based LetsReach, an app that enables its users to access music, games and other mobile phone apps, has raised $500K in pre-Series A round of funding led by Japanese venture capital firm Rebright Partners.
Reach was founded by Akshay Pruthi, Abhay Pruthi, Ashish Kumar and Ayush Verma. It launched the app’s beta version in March 2015.
The app claims to have over 50,000 users with more than 16 million files on its network and over 2 million file events.
