Tracxn Raises Funding from Nandan Nilekani, Mohandas Pai and Others

Tracxn, a data analytics company which was co-founded by Sequoia and Accel execs to track data from startups, has raised funding from marque Angel Investors including Nandan Nilekani, Mohandas Pai, Whatsapp’s Neeraj Arora and Junglee Co-Founder Anand Rajaraman, among others.


Founded in 2013, Tracxn helps venture capital funds, private equity groups and corporate strategy teams globally to track innovation across various industries, identify upcoming sectors and interesting investable startups.

According to Neha Singh, Founder, Tracxn, “Investors were our early adopters. But today Large Enterprises is our biggest as well as the fastest growing customer segment. We work with Enterprises & Investors across over 20 countries. As we expand our footprint, we look forward to learn from people who have scaled large businesses globally.”

In the last year alone, it grew its customer base by over 400%, and the company’s boasts of having a clientele which includes likes of BMW, LG,  Qihoo, VMWare, Target, Vodafone, Bosch etc., in addition to Venture Funds like Andreessen Horowitz, NEA, Lightspeed.

The Angels who have participated in Tracxn’s latest round also include marque names such as Japanese investor Teruhide Sato (Founder of Beenos), Girish Mathrubootham (Founder & CEO of Freshdesk) and Aneesh Reddy (Co-Founder and CEO of Capillary Technologies).

The company which has offices in Mountain View and Bangalore, has customers across North America, Europe and India. It now looks to expand its customer footprint across other regions including Japan, South-East Asia, Middle East and other parts of Europe.

This funding announcement comes hot on the heels of Tracxn’s recent investment raise from Ratan Tata. The startup had earlier raised $3.5 million from SAIF Partners in April 2015.
