Four Startups Raise Funding at TiE SmashUp Hyderabad

In the SmashUP event organised by the Hyderabad chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), four startups have raised seed funding of about $29K each (Rs.20 Lakh). The funding was led by investors like Unitus Seed Fund, 50K Ventures, Anthill Ventures, Saha Fund, Indian Angel Network, Hyderabad Angels, and Parampara Fund.

The startups who have raised funding are telehealth platform for sexual health, CupidCare, diagnostic and therapy platform, Theranosis Life Sciences, Fruit and vegetable disinfectant product by Green Pyramid Biotech, and mobile newspaper app, Newsdash.

Founded in 2016 by Krishna Teja Korrapati and Sriram Varma, Hyderabad-based CupidCare is a healthcare platform to address all sexual & mental health concerns.

Theranosis Life Sciences was also founded in 2016 by Mike Raghavan, Shibichakravarthy Kannan, Madhavi Muranjan. It is a personalized medicine startup developing in-vitro diagnostics for cancer and based out in Hyderabad.

Green Pyramid Biotech. Pvt. Ltd, (GPB) was started in 2015, aims to develop and commercialize innovative products, based on compositions/formulations of bio-surfactants, at affordable costs. Pune-based startup was founded by Mihir Mehta, Rajesh Mehta and Ajinkya Prabhune.

Newsdash specialises in bringing newspapers and newsletters on mobile. Hyderabad-based Newsdash was launched in 2015 by Prahal Ghai and Antesh Bharadwaj.

All startups have raised capital in exchange of 10% equity stake.
