Bengaluru-based medical technology startup, SigTuple which was founded by former AmEx Big Data Labs executives Tathagato Rai Dastidar, Rohit Kumar Pandey and Apurv Anand in the middle of 2015, has raised seed funding. The round was led by investors including Flipkart founders Sachin and Binny Bansal, VC firm Accel Partners and other angel investors.
Other investors who invested in the round include former Biocon executive Nirupa Bareja, Ashok Bareja, who is the former India head of the now-defunct National Semiconductor, and Amazon Lab126 executive Debanjan Mukherjee.
The startup builds intelligent solutions for medical diagnosis using state of the art machine learning techniques. It develops products for automated analysis of medical images and data to aid diagnosis. The company has built a technology-powered product called Shonit, which comprises a microscope, a cellphone app and a cloud-powered engine for analysis and reporting. It automatically analyses images of blood captured through a microscope as well as detect various diseases like anaemia, malaria, leukaemia and other diseases.
Recently, Flipkart Founders had also backed Housing founder Rahul Yadav’s latest startup, Intelligent Interfaces and invested $350,000 into Plabro Networks.
