Jaipur-based on-demand laundry startup Urban Dhobi which was founded in July 2015 by Satyam Mishra, Prakhar Pagaria, Tushar Thettayil and Saransh Sidhu, has raised angel round of funding. The round was led by Delhi-based serial investors – Vinod Bansal and Sanjeev Singhal. Also, the company is looking to raise pre-Series A funding by April end.
The startup aims to utilize the raised funding for hiring new talent and expanding its operations. It aims to expand its operations to more cities, including Ahmedabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Kota over the next six months.
Urban Dhobi claims that it pick up clothes on the preferred time slot of a user and deliver back in 24 hours. The company has an Android app, and is looking to launch its iOS app soon.
A couple of days back, Indian home services provider, Housejoy acquired Bangalore-based MyWash, an on-demand dry cleaning and laundry company at an undisclosed amount. Last year, laundry services provider Flashdoor and PickMyLaundry had also secured funding for their growth and expansion. And in November 2015, on-demand laundry and refurbishment service Wassup had acquired its peer Chamak in a full equity deal.
