Housejoy Acquires On-demand Dry Cleaning & Laundry Startup MyWash

To extend its dominance in the industry, Indian home services provider, Housejoy has acquired Bangalore-based MyWash, an on-demand dry cleaning and laundry company at an undisclosed amount.

Talking about the acquisition, Saran Chatterjee, CEO at Housejoy said, “Laundry is strategic to Housejoy. The MyWash team is a super smart team and has demonstrated the best operational know how to scale laundry. We couldn’t be more excited about the possibilities. We now have the possibility to accelerate the growth in laundry beyond the current growth rate.”

As part of the deal, the entire MyWash core team will be joining Housejoy and operate from their office. HouseJoy is looking to scale to 10, 000 services per day over the next year for the laundry vertical.

Founded in 2014 by Silus Reddy Chintapalli, Raghu Bharat and Balaji Ashok, MyWash had raised $1 million in funding from early-stage fund Orios Venture Partners, and then it was in talks to raise series A round.

Launched in January 2015 by Arjun Kumar and Sunil Goel, Housejoy raised $22.5 million in series B round of funding from a consortium of investors in December. Currently, it is operational in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. This is the first acquisition by the company.

Housejoy’s competition includes LocalOye,, UrbanPro, UrbanClap, Taskbob, Zimmber and Qyk among others.
