Madhatters Voyage Pvt Ltd owned Gurgaon-based two wheeler taxi service provider, Bikxie has raised angel funding from an investment banker in the Middle East and a businessman based in South India. The startup aims to utilise the raised funds for app development, expansion in Haryana, and building marketing strategies.
Founded by Mohit Sharma, Divya Kalia and Dennis Ching this month, Bikxie offers last-mile connectivity to commuters. They can hail the two-wheeler taxis from metro stations, malls, popular markets, housing complexes and universities. The company had earlier secured seed investment from a private equity professional.
Going forward, “Bikxie is looking for bigger rounds of funding which will help us scale up faster to become the most preferred brand in the two-wheeler taxi segment,” said Sharma, an NMIMS Mumbai alumnus who has previously worked with HSBC, American Express and ICICI Bank. Divya is a post graduate in Economics from GIPE Pune and worked with Boston Consulting Group and Royal Bank of Scotland. Dennis has an MBA degree from ITM Mumbai and worked with Volkswagen Finance prior to launching the startup.
Another similar startups operating in the space are Baxi and M-TAXI. In Novermber 2015, M-TAXI had raised angel funding led by angel investors named Mandeep Singh and Jairaj Singh and also in the same month Baxi received $1.5 million in seed round.Category Investments News
