UrbanClap has acquired after sales service platform, HandyHome in an equity swap deal. “The transaction has been closed and the prime motive is to strengthen the consumer base in services in the electronic appliances online,” stated an investor on the board of UrbanClap.
Mumbai-based HandyHome allows users to book brand-authorized repairs and other services for electronic appliances online. Founded in early 2015, HandyHome had raised about half a million dollars from Bessemer Venture Partners and Kae Capital in June. Bessemer is also one of the investors of UrbanClap.
HandyHome is the brainchild of 6 IIT Bombay graduates – Akash Goel, Manthan Shah, Aditya Gupta, Kartikeya Datt, Bonish Gandhi and Harmin Shah. It offers a complete end-to-end solution for the existing poor condition of after sales services, and eliminate multiple pain points like finding and calling the customer care, waiting on long call queues, and solve the problem of transparency and timeliness.
As per the data furnished on Google Play, HandyHome has 10,000 – 50,000 installs. Here’s a screen-shot of the reviews:
