Delhi-based concierge service startup, Wishup has raised a seed round of funding from TracxnLabs, 500 Startups and Mato Peric. Additionally, the company also saw funding from a host of Angels through TracxnSyndicate.
The startup, which has been operational on Facebook Messenger and its Helpline number (+91-7676766666), also announced the Beta launch of its Android app, which will provide its users with another option to use its services.
Through Wishup, customers can get anything and everything done. From Product Deliveries (Cakes and Flowers, Medicines, Cigarettes), Bookings (Movie, Cab, Hotels, Travel), Household Services (Laundry, Electrician, Mechanic) or Reservations (Doctors, Restaurants), Wishup aims to become a one-stop platform to address all of its users’ needs. The startup even allows its customers to submit their To-Do Lists, so that they can sit back and let Wishup look after all their repetitive tasks such as sending gifts to their loved ones, calling electricians or booking restaurant tables and cabs at the specified times.
“We started with my personal Whatsapp number and scaled up to a 1000 requests per day within 1st month of operation. That’s when we validated the market potential and decided to come up with a more personalized platform on mobile phones,” says Wishup’s Co-Founder Neelesh Rangwani.
The startup has already acquired over 10,000 customers since its inception in July 2015. It was founded by Neelesh Rangwani and Vivek Gupta. Neelesh graduated from IIT Madras. He is also an Ex-Marketer at Rocket Internet Ventures. Vivek Graduated from IIT Madras & IIM Ahmedabad. He has worked as a consultant at BCG.
Wishup also aims to make customer experience more seamless and convenient, through the use of Artificial Intelligence technology for categories such as Cab Bookings and Mobile Recharges.
According to Prahadeesh Giridharan, Technology Co-Founder, Wishup, “At Wishup, AI will be used at both the ends, a Wishbot which is at the customer end and an Opsbot which is at the operations end. Wishbot is autonomous chat bot that understands query intent and acts upon it for certain specific categories like phone recharge, cab bookings. Opsbot, on the other hand engages the users on behalf of operators when they are busy. It also helps in logging requests and categorising them automatically. These features are in development stage and will be rolled out soon.”
After seeing initial success through its Helpline and Facebook Messenger, the concierge startup has now taken its service to the Android App space as well. Commenting on the launch of the Wishup App, Neelesh says, “Through the app, customers can easily take advantage of Wishup to all get all the things they need done through just a few clicks. We expect the app to give more customers the experience of using our offering”.
The company plans to launch its iOS app early next month and plans on aggressively expanding its technology team to provide its users with the better customer experience. Currently, it offers its service across the NCR region as well as in Bangalore, with more cities to come soon.
