LocalCircles Gets Funding from Dalmia Bharat MD, Puneet Dalmia

LocalCircles, Indian citizen engagement platform, has announced that Dalmia Group Managing Director, Puneet Dalmia has become an investor in the company after its investments from Anand Mahindra and Nadir Godrej. The funding amount is still undisclosed.

The new funding will be used to expand its presence, strengthen technology and hire more talent.


LocalCircles enables citizens to connect with national and local governance, find emergency assistance, resolve civic issues, improve law & order, and connect with causes/interest they care about.

From citizens sharing their collective views on Making Parliament Function, Net Neutrality, Functioning of Odd-Even rule in Delhi, the company also enables community assistance for citizens like Finding Blood, Law & Order Issues, Cancer or Health Information.

The startup is in the process of enabling communities for many more causes and making the existing communities available to many more citizens and the funds raised will be used towards that. The firm claims that it represents Social Media 2.0 which is focused on solving real world problems by bringing people together.

LocalCircles founding team comprises of Sachin Taparia, former Managing Director at Boeing International; Abhishek Gupta formerly of Oracle Inc; Mukesh Gupta Former executive of Juniper Networks and K Yatish Rajawat, Former Group Managing Editor of Dainik Bhaskar group. The advisory board of the company includes Nadir Godrej, Managing Director of Godrej Industries; RC Bhargava, Chairman Maruti Suzuki and Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group.

It is free for citizens. The company has also launched its app for Android and iOS users.
