Obino, mobile based weight loss coaching platform, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from RoundGlass Partners. The company plans to use the funds for product enhancement and marketing.
Obino is a mobile app that offers a dedicated health coach, personalised diet and fitness plans, and includes app tools that notifies the user of their fitness routine. Most of the content is customised according to the user, with the help of AI built by the company, and also on the user’s medical history. The nutritionists check on the content before it is shared and also they give additional remarks, if required.
For the personalized fitness part, the users are consulted on call and then the nutritionists put together a plan. The cost depends on the level of engagement and lies between Rs 499 to Rs 1,499.
The company was founded by Vishal Soni, Ritu Srivastava and Yogesh Sachdeva in August 2014. Ritu and Yogesh are former employees of Bharti Airtel, where Ritu headed the advertising of the company while Yogesh took care of the IT services.
Ritu states that they use mobile app-based technology so that the Obino Coach is partnered directly with the users helping them learn to make simple, practical and sustainable lifestyle choices, every day. It gives them control over their health by providing them with the right information and tools to make better choices. With over 6,000 kilos and 4000 inches lost on the app in the last six months alone, their goal at Obino is to change the face of Indian weight loss.
Obino had raised an undisclosed amount of sum in December last year and has previously been backed by Healthkart.
Health and fitness sector in India has been seeing growth. Last year in April, Practo technologies acquired FitHo Wellness Services, who works in the same sector as Obino. Just like Obino, FitHo manages daily lifestyle diseases and fitness.
