Facebook owned Whatsapp now wants to take on Microsoft’s Skype. Whatsapp is reportedly going to rollout a video calling feature on its app in the coming year.
While Facebook messenger already has video calling functionality, Whatsapp might now soon have a multi tab user interface and a video calling option too. This news came in just after Microsoft announced to acquire their ex-CTO’s company to improve the Skype interface and have a glitch free Skype for business.
The pictures of the same were leaked on a German Blog, the images show the private beta versions on the iPhone app. Whatsapp does not want to stay even a step behind Skype, flip camera option and the mic option. The split images show both the caller interface and the receivers interface.
After introducing the calling function, Whatsapp is targeting to acquire users of Facetime and Skype. Moreover, the developers are working on a new design, like in browsers multiple tabs can be scrolled through, Whatsapp wants a similar feature in its chat system, where users will be able to have multiple chat windows and need not go back & forth to the list to switch.Category News Technology
