With the increasing penetration of Internet in India, online education is beginning to catch steam. Estimates suggest that more than 1 million schools and 18,000 higher education institutions are present in the country, and the Online Education Market in India is being pitched to become a $10 billion industry by 2019. Realizing this opportunity, startups have emerged in a surge, trying to break the conventionalities attached to the field of education with their disruptive approaches and novel tools. Here’s one to check out for-
Plancess – the startup was founded in 2011 by a bunch of IIT Bombay alumni- Nitesh Salvi, Vivek Gupta & Mirik Gogri with a motive to help students preparing for competitive exams like IIT JEE & AIPMT by providing them with quality education content online, at an affordable price.
Talking about the conception of this idea, Nitesh said, “students preparing for these examinations spend anywhere between Rs 50,000 to 5 lacs each year, with the expenditure being on the higher side especially, for IIT JEE & AIPMT entrance examinations. Upon identifying this pain point, we thought of creating an educational solution which would economize this expenditure, and help aspirants receive quality training without having to spend a fortune.”
He added, “our vision has always been to democratize quality education and be recognised as a platform of choice for comprehensive preparation needs of every entrance exam aspirant”.
Features of Plancess
Plancess offers comprehensive solutions for preparation in the form of high definition Video Lectures delivered by IIT rank holders, expert designed Books and rigorous Test Series which as it claims, covers each and every concept of the respective entrance examinations.
Plancess’ revamped Video lectures employs a ‘Never show your back’ approach where the instructor is always facing the viewers and explains concepts through use of props, examples and animations.
Similarly, its learning & assessment platform, PrepLane adapts course delivery on the fly based on an individual learner’s interest, preferences and conceptual proficiency.
