Bengaluru-based Jigsaw Academy which offers courses in online data and analytics at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, has raised $3 million led by Manipal Global Education Services. Former Infosys veteran T.V. Mohandas Pai has also invested an undisclosed amount in the five year old startup in his personal capacity. The raised funding will be used to expand the company’s product portfolio, presence to global markets including US, U.K, Australia and Middle East and ramp up corporate tie ups.
The company trains professionals from all over the world in data mining, data science, and predictive analytics, equipping them with the data analytics skills that are in demand in today’s workplace. In the last 4 years, it has trained over 40,000 students across 30 countries in the widely used data analytics tools and techniques through the Jigsaw Lab, a cloud based virtual platform that is accessible to students 24X7.
Gaurav Vohra, CEO Jigsaw Academy founded the company with Sarita Digumarti in 2011, with an initial investment of $20,000. The company has about 100 member team which it plans to double in the next 12 months. Last year, it clocked a revenue of Rs 15 crore, and it plans to record about Rs100 crore in the next three years.
Commenting on the market opportunity, Sarita Digumarti said, “All other countries except for the United States, including Italy, Philippines etc are lagging behind India in terms of data analytics skill set, so we think there is a big opportunity to tap that market.”Category Investments News
