Nexus Venture Partners Closes Fund IV of $450M

Nexus Venture Partners has announced the closing of Nexus Ventures IV Ltd with committed capital of over $450 million. Most of the Nexus IV capital commitment came from long-term Nexus investors who partnered with them in previous funds.  This brings the total capital under management to over $1 billion.

Nexus works with entrepreneurs building market leading companies serving Indian or global markets.  Its investments cover a broad range of enterprise technology, consumer and business services.

Nexus remains focused on seed and early stage companies and will invest in technology and data led businesses that are disrupting consumer retail, financial services, health-care, and education markets, and in enterprise technologies that are enhancing productivity and lowering time to market. Few of the companies backed by the VC firm are Craftsvilla, OLX, ShopClues, Snapdeal and Stayzilla.

Druva, Gluster, HelpShift, Pubmatic and Scalearc are Nexus partner companies that were conceived in India and are now global players.

The VC firm began operations in 2006 and has invested in over 60 companies since inception. The previously closed funds were- Fund I -$100million announced in 2007; Fund II- $220million closed mid 2008 and Fund III $270mn by the end of 2012.
