FlippAR: Making Augmented Reality a Truth in eCommerce Sector

User engagement is one of the biggest challenges in today’s advertising industry, how to make people consume their content is one of the biggest questions marketers ask themselves. As the power of content is reaching its zenith, companies and their marketeers are trying to engage maximum users. Customers are becoming more tech-savvy by the day and digital marketers need to cope up the coming technology, induce it into their product. How do you introduce AR in digital marketing? To answer the question FlippAR came into existence.

Founded in 2015 by Vivek Jain, FlippAR uses Augmented Reality and iBeacons technologies to empower marketers and retailers to engage their target consumers in the physical world. Vivek is an IIM Ahmedabad alumni and has over 13 years of experience in the information technology sector.

The company is headquartered in Bangalore and is a part of MovingUp Products & Ltd. Augmented reality is something that connects the virtual world and the physical world to create an alternative reality to provide entertainment and information. The timing, place and medium of such advertisements matter, how is the user consuming that data and when does he need to explore the information about a thing or a product. This also creates a 360 degree view of the product, making it of a large use in the eCommerce industry.

The company has over 2,000 downloads on Google Play and iOS store. Also they have partnered with Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, where they have augmented a dinosaur exhibit. This app has captured over 4000 users.

Going up to a new restaurant-looking at the menu, most of the times you wouldn’t know what’s the best thing to eat. Imagine opening an app in your phone scanning the menu in your phone and you could just read all the reviews of that restaurant and those dishes on the menu. Similarly FlippAR is creating the same consumption towards advertisers and companies, the company is even looking forward to launch a plugin library that would just combine with the other apps and help create a next-gen user experience.

Talking to Vivek on the expansion of the product, he stated that they have partnered with UFT Solutions, UAE. They would be marketing FlippAR in the UAE markets and are currently talking to a few large retailers. The company is also looking a partnership in the United Kingdom, also the talks are in final stage of discussions.
