We knew Tesla Model X was coming since 2012, and today it finally arrived; now a lot of information has already been released in the lead-up like it’s an all-electric SUV with up to seven passenger seats. The model x can go from 0-60 MPH in 4.8 seconds and with Ludicrous mode enabled it can do it in 3.2 seconds.

The car specs can be defined in 2 words “It’s Fast”. It’s 0.1 seconds faster than a Ferrari Spider 458 4.5 V8, a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4, or a McLaren MP4-12C and that makes the Model X the fastest SUV in the market, with the all wheel drive it can reach a top speed of 155 MPH and has a 257 mile range.

The Model X also has the iconic falcon wing doors in the rear and are designed with two set of hinges to open in tight and low spaces. As announced by Elon Musk the model X is the Safest SUV ever. As announced by Elon Musk; “the model X scored 5 stars in every category”, according to the graph displayed during the launch you’ve a 6.5% chance of getting injured in a high speed accident, which is much lesser compared to other cars in the segment.

Tesla’s direct competitors are Audi and Volvo, but with the re-engineered Model X, they took the competition to a completely different level in terms of safety. A much larger front-impact crumple zone, and great strength for side-on impacts, with a low center of gravity to ensure the car won’t roll over, and if it does, it will “land on its feet.” Some other safety features include automatic emergency braking and side collision avoidance sensors.

Tesla also bought innovation in air safety, there won’t be any software to detect emission because they have a huge (10X huge) first true HEPA air filter, which according to Musk is 800X better than regular air filter, it’s claimed to be so efficient that the Model X even has a ‘Bio-weapon defense mode’, Yes, it’s a real button.

The interior of the car is as smart as one can expect from Tesla, it comes with “auto-present,” doors, in other words it open for you as you walk towards the car and will close automatically if you put your foot on the brake pedal. The windshield is huge, according to Musk it gives a panoramic view and feels like “sitting in a helicopter cockpit”; and the middle row of designed to move around automatically, so you can easily move to the back seats, even when your hands are full, Tesla is know for it’s attention to small things, in Model X it comes in the form of a “Blind Home” for charging your phone device, so you just drop your phone and it’s connected to the charger.

The rear doors are “falcon-wing,” so they open upwards, but they’re different to other such type of doors in one crucial aspect: they have two sets of hinges, so they can open in tight spaces and have an ultrasonic sensors in the side, so they know how much room they have to open. They aren’t normal ultrasonic sensors, though as there’s no black plastic dots, which are normally present with those sensors. Instead, Tesla has re-engineered them to make them see through metal.

Elon Musk also demonstrated that the Model X can tow up to 5,000 pounds, whilst carrying seven people and a bunch of luggage. There’s also a custom-made hitch that can be installed in a few seconds and can carry up to four bicycles.

Elon Musk said during the presentation that “Any car can go electric”, with Model X it’s safe to assume that they are right about it.
