Chat Based Delivery Platform MagicTiger Acquires Zoyo

Chat based delivery platform MagicTiger has acquired artificial intelligence based platform Zoyo for a cash-and-stock deal. Post deal Zoyo’s technology will be integrated onto MagicTiger’s platform.

Talking about the acquisition, Pratyush Prasanna, cofounder and CEO of MagicTiger said, “Neither a purely human-powered platform nor a completely-automated approach is going to be the correct approach for a chat-based transaction platform, which is scalable.”

Founded in July 2015 by Shashank Singla, Pratyush Prasanna, Arun Kumar and Srinivas Anumolu and incubated by K Ganesha and wife Meena Ganesh through their incubator GrowthStory, Zoyo is an artificial intelligence-based platform that allows users to shop over chat. It allows its users to order groceries, food product, ticket booking, laundry services etc. through message. The service is available for Android users.

Bangalore based MagicTiger helps its users to chat, order anything and get it delivered at their doorstep. The service is free of cost and the users pay only for the items purchased. Currently the service is available in Hyderabad and Bangalore and soon will be launched in other cities. The user can avail the service at any point of the day but the delivery is made from 9 AM to 9 PM. The company also provides online payments and COD as options for its users. It has team of about 40 employees and has partnered with players like Roadrunnr and JoMaange for deliveries.

In July 2015, MagicTiger had acquired Bangalore based startup GoDeliver for an undisclosed amount. As part of the deal Godeliver’s co-founders Gaurav Bhaghel and Piyush Mishra, joined MagicTiger’s team as technology lead.

The company competes with other chat-based delivery platforms like Goodservice, Goodbox and others.
