Print Photos Wirelessly from a Smartphone With the Help of Micromax’s Newly Launched YUPIX

Micromax owned YU Televentures has launched a portable compact pocket sized photo printer called the YUPIX.

According to the company, YUPIX uses Dye Sublimation technology which prints 2.1 x 3.4 inch sized digital photos at a resolution of 291 dpi in 60 seconds. The printer weighs 273 grams, has a 750mAh battery, is compatible with both Android and iOS devices and has an image transfer speed 10 times faster due to the inbuilt Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. The user needs to install the YUPIX app, post which he/she can edit and print photographs without the help of a computer, as reported by Firstpost.

The printer cartridge does not require a cleaning roll and has an integrated ink ribbon and photo paper. It has the capability to print upto 10 copies continuously. It is also claimed to be fingerprint and water resistant.

YUPIX smart printer will be available on Amazon from 7 September for Rs.6,999.

There are other smartphone compatible printers in the market as well. LG’s PD233 Pocket Photo Printer (Rs.9,900) has the same working model as YUPIX. The companies are at a cut throat competition to innovate and launch technologies which is more user friendly and economical. Smartphone makers are developing new gadgets beyond their usual business of manufacturing handsets to make a difference.
