Motorola has launched the Moto X Play smartphone in India, which is available on Flipkart with a price tag of Rs. 18,499 for the 16GB variant, and Rs.19,999 for the 32GB variant. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, and has dual-SIM slots. It supports 4G on both the SIMs and its internal storage can be further expanded upto 128GB with the help of a microSD card slot.
The device comes with 21-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front facing camera, 3630 mAh battery, and will be available in Black with ‘Black back’ and White with ‘winter White back’ colors. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, measures 148x75x10.9mm dimensions and weighs 169 grams.
At the global launch, the company has announced two variants of Moto X – the Moto X Play and Moto X Style, however, Motorola has not disclosed the specific timeline for Moto X Style market availability in India.
Apart from this, in July, Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility had launched the third generation of its Moto G smartphone in India at a price of Rs.11,999. And, in February, the company released new Moto E edition called Moto E (2nd Gen) in select markets for $119.99 (Rs.7,421) and $149.99 (Rs 9,283) for the 3G and 4G LTE models respectively.
