Founded in 2011 by Atul Prabhu and Rupam Mazumdar hotel booking engine, RoomCentral, has raised $2 million. The investment was led by angel investor Karanpal Singh, managing director of Nameh chain of hotels in Delhi, Goa, and Odisha.
The startup is also providing a property management system (PMS) that offers property owners tools and solutions to sell, manage and distribute room inventory in real-time by unifying all the property’s functions on a single, easy to use interface. It currently has presence in 50 properties across Delhi and Southern India, which have an inventory of 25 rooms per property.
It enables travelers to make room reservations and get confirmation in real time with cloud-based PMS. Also, it offers all the tools a hotel staff needs for doing their day-to-day jobs like handling reservations, assigning rooms & managing room inventory, checking guests in & out, accommodating in-house guest needs, and handling accounting and billing.
The hotel technology solutions space is getting investor attention due to rise in online travel booking. Seven days back, Ibibo Group, that owns properties such as Goibibo.com, redBus.in, Yourbus and ibibo Ryde, had acquired a minority stake in cloud-based hotels solution provider start-up Djubo for an undisclosed amount.
