Gympik Health Solutions Pvt. Ltd., which owns and runs Gympik.com, an online marketplace for fitness service providers, has announced the completion of its acquisition of FitnessPapa. As part of the deal, the FitnessPapa team will join the Gympik team and Sourabh Kumar, founder of FitnessPapa, will also join the Gympik core team.
The FitnessPapa Passport, a monthly fitness program membership, allows its users to join the best fitness centres in the FitnessPapa network for any kind of workout. Started in March 2015, Fitnesspapa has more than 500 fitness centers in its network spread across Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore.
“Following this acquisition, Gympik seeks to advance its current services through its merging with FitnessPapa’s One Pass membership classes,” said Amaresh Ojha, Founder and CEO of Gympik.

The merger seeks to retain fitness seekers and users in the industry through the One Pass membership by offering them variety and more engagement in their fitness activities starting with having 30 different types of workout to choose from. The Passport holders can use it for classes ranging from Zumba to Yoga, Dance, Gym, Swim, Karate, MMA, Boxing, TRX, Boot Camp etc. in any studio.
“We are a network of over 6000 fitness centres, the major focus areas being Aerobics, Gym, Zumba, Dance, Dietitian, Physiotherapy and Yoga, which is why this merger will prove very effective to both parties, and crucially to our users as well who have craved for this kind of variety in their workouts,” said Ojha.
An IIM Bangalore alumnus, who had previously worked at companies like Sun Microsystems, CISCO and Intuit, Ojha founded Gympik in December 2012. Today, with over 6000 centres and 3000 professionals, Gympik.com is an online marketplace connecting fitness service providers and seekers.Category Business
