California-based automated big data management platform, Infoworks has secured $5 million in Series A funding led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from Knoll Ventures and others. Nexus portfolio companies include Cloud.com, Gluster, Pubmatic, DimDim, helpshift, 0xdata, Elastic Box, Snapdeal ,Netmagic, Druva and Unmetric.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its management team to prepare for the next stage of growth.

Founded in 2014 by Amar Arsikere, CEO, Buno Pati, Chairman, Infoworks has developed a Dynamic Data Warehousing (DDW) platform. The platform provides a scalable and shared data repository that supports all enterprise analytics on Hadoop through software automation and data organization.

In a separate announcement, the company has also announced availability of a complete solution for data warehouse augmentation, which is built on the its dynamic data warehousing (DDW) platform.

Just as Google crawls the web and organizes information for search, the Infoworks DDW platform automatically crawls enterprise databases, ingests the data into Hadoop, and organizes it into high performance data warehouses and other data models that support all enterprise use cases, including cubes, added Amar.

Existing methodologies and systems of big data management are proving to be slow and expensive to meet the emerging needs of enterprises. With this investment, Infoworks aims to address all these challenges by growing the number of analytics use cases and increasing volume and variety of data.
