Fashion retailer app Voonik has acquihired Trialkart for an undisclosed amount. Trialkart is a startup that gives a virtual dressing room experience to its users.
Trialkart’s team will build a new division at Voonik called ‘Image Intelligence’ to help shoppers buy via Voonik’s shopping app, while providing a virtual shopping experience to the users.
Sujayath Ali, Co-founder of Voonik said, “We ultimately want to reach a stage where we don’t want to rely on vendor data at all for our personalization features. Image intelligence and virtual dressing rooms are the holy grail for fashion and e-commerce and we plan to implement these solutions in the Voonik app in the future.” Further adding he said he wants to improve personalization on the Voonik app.
Bangalore based startup Voonik had raised an amount of $5 million in series A funding in June 2015 from Sequoia Capital and its existing investor Seedfund. The application is available for Android users.
Trialkart was founded by Vipul Divyanshu, Jayalakshmi Manohar and Harsha M. The startup was launched around six months ago and was in talks of raising funds.

Founded in 2014 by Durai Balusamy and Amit Monga, the startup launched the technology on Myntra app and Yepme.com website. The feature is made active on approx. 8% of their clothing catalog.
Technology functional and catering the augmented reality segment is not new. Some facets of the conventional shopping style has been adopted by the eCommerce sector. Lakme had launched a virtual reality app called as Lakme Makeup Pro, which helps customers try out new cosmetics before purchasing them.
