Headquartered in Gurgaon, Digital Food Talk Pvt Ltd, which runs an online food community Food Talk India and Food Talk Plus app, has raised a seed investment of $500,000 from a private investor.

“This investment will help us launch the Food Talk Plus mobile application in a big way, by strengthening our core with an in-house tech team and creation of a comprehensive marketing plan” said serial entrepreneur Shuchir Suri, CEO and founder of Digital Food Talk Pvt Ltd.

Founded in 2013 by Shuchir Suri and Anjali Batra, Food Talk India was started as an invite-only Social Food Forum on Facebook. Today with over 50,000 members, the company has captivated an online audience of 400,000 followers across all social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Viber. The seed investment has brought forward opportunities for the brand to launch their new product- Food Talk Plus – A hyper-local dish discovery mobile Application.

To spearhead their strategies in this space, Himanshu Vaishnav of Airocorp, an artificial intelligence company has joined the Food Talk India team as their Chief Technology Officer. Before starting this firm Suri spent nearly three years with ads and media company WPP owned venture Encompass in India.
