Swatch has designed a new watch Swatch Sistem51, which costs just $150 and is scheduled to be launched in the United States, Switzerland, and China.
The internet connected watch will enable its user’s to pay for items by tapping their watch on a contactless reader. The company is challenging products by Apple and Samsung who have products with similar features in the market. The Swatch Sistem51’s battery will never run out as it will be powered by its user’s movements. Company CEO Nick Hayek said they have already made 20,000 and is preparing for the launch, as reported by NBC.
iWatch has been attracting criticism and controversy for long now. It has disappointing reviews such as being uncomfortable to wear, difficult to read or to use due to too many apps and being very expensive. With affordable price Swatch smartwatch is sure to give a tough competition to iWatch. Apple smartwatch’s basic version is available for $350 and $400 to its high end version priced between $10,000 to $12,000.
