2014 was a brilliant year in terms of smartphones releases with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z3, HTC One M8, and Apple-made iPhone 6. And we expect the same this year when it comes to handset launches. Here is a roundup of the best 5 smartphones which is expected to be announced in 2015.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5

Rumour has it Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to be launched in September, as the company has been routinely releasing their Galaxy Note models in the same month. The smartphone may come with a 5.9 inch 4K SUPER AMOLED display, 4GB RAM, and internal storage capacity of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB which would be further expandable upto 128GB. It may also be powered by a Octa core processor clocked at 2.9Ghz with a 64 bit architecture, 18 Megapixel rear camera with f2.0 Aperture & 4K recording capabilities and 5 Megapixel front facing camera for selfies.

Also, the device may feature Knox Security mode, Heart rate sensor, Finger print sensor & retina scanner, and may even be available with Aluminium finished edges with an all metallic curved body. It is also rumored to support the latest Android version with battery saver mode along with wireless charging. In India, its cost is expected to be around Rs 54,000-59,000.

One Plus Two

One Plus Two may be launched on July 27 and the announcement is set to be made at a virtual reality event. The smartphone is expected to come with a 5.5-inch IPS LTPS full HD display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5 GHz, and may run on CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4 OS. It may also feature 64 GB storage capacity, 13 MP rear-facing camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, and could include a 4GB of RAM and a 3300mAh battery.

The device is set to sport a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution (2,560×1,440 pixels), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC, and may run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, it may also come packed with 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB in-built memory, 16MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera and a 3,280mAh battery. The price of the device is still unclear.

Google Nexus 5 (2015) (second generation)

Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to be released in October or November, and may sport a 5.7-inch touchscreen with 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution. It is set to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 13MP main camera and 2MP front snapper, and a 2,700mAh battery. It may come with a price tag of under $500.

Google is expected to joins hands with either LG or Huawei for its upcoming flagship device.

 Microsoft Lumia 940 XL

Microsoft Lumia 940 XL is rumoured to launch later this year. The device specification may include a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2550 pixels) resolution display, 3GB of RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, 20 MP rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera which can record full-HD resolution videos.
