iCrushiFlush, a casual dating app, raised Pre- Series A investments from IDG Ventures that will be used for product enhancement and marketing purpose. Founded by Amit Vohra, the app helps its users to find new people around their location and connect to befriend them.
Amit Vora said, “I had an idea for location based dating and matching a couple of years ago. We then built the right technology platform that matches and engages across diversified India, which we term ‘Inner Bharat’. With changing cultural dynamics in India, dating is now accepted as part of our lifestyle. Thus, this is the right time.”
The app is very simple to use, where a user can either “Send a Crush” /or “Flush Out” the rest. The app keeps this expression secretive and mutual matches happen only when the other person also expresses the same desire. Once a match happens, people can connect and interact on a personal level. Beyond the simple swipe based “Crush” & “Flush”, the app also allows users to use in-app gifting to ‘break-the-ice’ and reveal their identity. This becomes a catalyst for increasing the mutual matches and connects.
The company claims to have a growth of 25% month-on-month. The app has presence in over 12,000 towns across the country, and it has managed to get about five lakh downloads across India, mainly between age group of 18 to 25.
IDG Ventures has also invested in firms like Flipkart, Lenskart.Com, Vserv, Firstcry.Com, Yatra, Newgen, and Zivame.Com among others.
