Bengaluru-based Cartisan, the car service marketplace, has raised an undisclosed amount in its first round of funding from Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Ventures, TaxiForSure Co-Founder Aprameya, Global Founders Capital and others. The company will use the money to extend its operations beyond Bangalore and broaden the service provider network.
Cartisan was founded in June 2015 by Venkat Sreeram, Sharath Murthy and Pete Bulley. It caters to all the vehicle service related requirement, including car cleaning and detailing, regular maintenance, running repairs and breakdown services. It has more than 100 service providers enrolled on its platform like 3M Car care and Bosch car service.
“We believe in Cartisan’s vision to simplify car care. It’s an innovative product catering to all the servicing related needs of a car owner. By investing in Cartisan, we want to help service providers grow their business and car owners to make an informed choice when it comes to servicing their beloved cars,” said Yuvraj Singh.
This is the sixth investment by YouWeCan Venture since its inception. Its other investments include beauty and wellness segment Vyomo, on-demand logistics service provider Moovo, education marketplace Edukart, online healthcare marketplace Healthians.com, and Indian marketplace for private jets and helicopters, JetSetGo.
The automotive after-market servicing business in India is pegged at about $2 billion (excluding spare parts) in 2015 according to CII-ACMA report. Cartisan recently launched their Android app.
