After CEO Dick Costolo stepped down earlier this month, now Twitter’s VP of corporate development and strategy, Rishi Garg is leaving the company. Garg, who led the company’s M&A team, joined Twitter in May 2014, and before that he worked at Square as a head of corporate development. Square was founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, who is incidentally now serving as the interim CEO of Twitter after Costolo’s resignation.

During Rishi’s time, Twitter closed about 12 acquisitions including live streaming app Periscope, TellApart, JoinNiche, mobile marketing and analytics company Zipdial, and machine learning startup Whetlab, among others. The company is also in talks to buy magazine-style app, Flipboard in an all-stock deal that values it at $1 billion.

It’s still unclear what Garg will be up to next, but here are 8 tweets through which he announced his departure on Friday.

This is the second resignation at the Twitter’s M&A team after Jessica Verilli who resigned last month, to take a role at Google Ventures. Also, she played a key role in Twitter’s acquisition of Vine in October 2012.
