Former Infosys CFO and serving chairman of Manipal Global Education, Mohandas Pai has reportedly invested an undisclosed amount in ‘TheBetterIndia’, an online media startup that reports positive news, unsung heroes and inspirational stories from India.
Thebetterindia.com focuses on the good news and inspirational stories rather then the hard hitting news flashed by the mainstream media houses.The company currently has over 100 writers from across the country, with over 500,000 visitors on its website every month.
According to NextBigWhat, Mr. Pai mentioned that he had been reading and tweeting the articles of this website for a while and his interest in the venture led to him interacting with the founders on Twitter, before meeting them in-person and making this investment.
ThebetterIndia went through a seed round of funding in March which raised Rs 1 crore from Intellecap Impact Investment Network (I3N) and Raveen Sastry, co-founder of Myntra.com, the company is founded by Anuradha Kedia & Dhimant Parekh.
