Chennai-based laundry service startup, Wassup has raised a pre-series A funding led by Jabong’s Co-founders Arun Chandramohan and Praveen Sinha with participation from other angel investors.

The company backed by Das Start Ventures, currently has operations in Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi. It operates more than 25 stores across these cities. The startup had also launched its app for Android and iOS users, currently it offers on-demand convenience services in laundry, dry cleaning, shoe and bag refurbishments.

Founded in 2011 by Balachandar R., Wassup sends someone to people house to pick up garments to be washed. They inspect, count, and tag clothes accordingly because every fabric has its own washing instruction. They wash, iron and deliver. This investment comes at a time when hyper local startups are catching investor’s attention across sectors.
