To move all its operations from multiple offices to one location, Flipkart has signed a deal with US based private-equity firm Blackstone and Bengaluru-based builder Embassy Group, for a 2 million square feet office space in Bengaluru. The deal is for 20 years the the company will pay rent at Rs 50 a month per sq ft.
Initially, the online retailer was in talks with Embassy Group to lease 3 million square feet, however the plan now has been revised and the deal was signed for 2 million sq ft. This is still being touted as the single largest office space in India.
Two million square feet of office space seats over 20,000 people and the property will be delivered in two phases, over in the next two years. Currently, its office space includes 106,000 sq ft in Mantri Commercio, 37,674 sq ft in Salarpuria Tech Point and 9,000 sq ft in Brigade Court.
