Hyderabad based online home decor company Renderlogy has raised Rs 6 crore led by Mumbai-based Astarc Ventures. This is first investment by the seed fund, the strategic investment arm of a Mumbai-based automotive solutions group, which launched a corpus of $2 million in March, that will be increased up to $10 million over the next few years.
Renderlogy was founded by Shailesh Goswami and Brinda in 2014, with an initial investment of Rs. 35 lakhs. Post that, the company had raised a round of funding in 2014. Shailesh is a graduate from IIT Delhi, and he was a Senior Director at Microsoft. Brinda ran an Interior designing practice, called Infinite Ideas Interiors.
Initially, the company rendered interior designing, execution and technology enabled design services. Post Astarc’s investment, the company plans to launch a B2C portal which any consumer across India can use and design their house in a few clicks.
Going forward, the company will be focusing more on the technology, portal development and community building. Currently, it operates in Pune and Hyderabad only, and it is on its way to expand its presence into six new cities including Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Raipur and Jaipur.
Other startups that offers similar services include Nestopia, HomeLane and LivSpace, which recently acquired two startups in this space are Dwll and DesignUp.
