Gurgaon-based online platform for art and craft goods, World Art Community has raised $200,000 from serial entrepreneur and angel investor Viraj Tyagi with participation from other unnamed investor.
As per VCCircle report, the raised funding will be used for technology improvement and customer acquisition. “We expect this funding to drive rapid growth and enable reaching out to a discerning audience who truly appreciate unique, handcrafted creations,” said company’s Founder Shobhit Arora.
Founded in December 2014, the startup enables artists, craftspersons and designers to create their own online stores and sell their creations. With in three months, it has over 150-partner artists and designers on board with over 2,000 unique creations. WAC charges 10% commission on every transaction through its platform and website includes 8 categories such as painting, photography, drawing & illustration, pottery, apparel and accessories.
