Restaurant reservation platform, EazyDiner has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in seed round led by angel investor along with DSG Consumer Partners’ managing director Deepak Shahdadpuri and former managing director with ChrysCapital, Gulpreet Kohli.
Founded in 2014 by Vir Sanghvi along with a group of hoteliers and restaurateurs, EazyDiner is a dining platform that offers reviews, recommendations, insiders’ tips, dining concierge services and deals with every reservation. Currently, it is operational in Delhi/NCR region with over 8,000 restaurant listings with menus. It has close to 300 restaurants in its database for online reservations.
The firm already has an Android app and is expected to launch its iOS app next month. By the end of July, the company is planning to expand to over 7,500 restaurants with 500 partner restaurants where it will allow online reservations and exclusive deals. It is also looking to increase its presence to Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, etc. by the end of this year.
Other player in this market include Zomato which has just acquired US-based restaurant reservations and table management platform NexTable and plans to launch restaurant reservation service in India and other markets, by the name of ZomatoBook. Another firms in similar space are WowTables which was earlier known as GourmetItUp, has raised $300,000 in funding and DineOut was acquired by Times Internet Ltd’s listing service TimesCity in 2014.
