Image Source: PlayStore has acquired Bengaluru-based Matchify. It is a women focused dating app that helps find “like minded” people looking for serous and meaningful relationships together.

The app comes with a host of women-friendly features including verified profiles, secure chat women can initiate with men directly (unlike men who can do it only when there’s a mutual like similar to Tinder), control over who can see profile and pictures, and abuse report/ block. Matchify has inbuilt safety features including mobile verification, photo screening, relationship status check and the ability to report a user.

The Matchify mobile app is currently on the Google Play Store and is soon coming on other platforms.

Founded in 1997, Matrimony is known for its website, it got its initial funding from Draper International which still holds shares in the company. The firm is also backed by Canaan Partners, Mayfield and Bessemer Venture Partners.

Matrimony’s rival, had bought about 25% stake in Delhi-based dating applications maker Thrill in a cash and stock deal valued at close to $1 million.
