Indonesian online marketplace that sells artwork in the form of merchandise, Tees has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from early-stage seed fund and accelerator programme 500Startups and Singapore-based investment firm 8Capita.
The investment also saw participation from a group of angel investors including Chintaka Ranatunga from Sparkbox Ventures, and Badroni Yuzirman, Founder of Indonesia’s Tangan Di Atas (TDA) entrepreneur community.
As per an e27 report, the raised funding will go towards to expand regionally, hire new talents, add more product category and develop mobile apps.
Tees.co.id is a place where anyone can find a variety of products t-shirts adults and children, long sleeve shirts, hoodies, jackets, varsity jackets, raglan, mobile phone casing and canvas with unique designs and can buy at an affordable price. The company claims to have more than 100,000 crowd sourced designs available for sale on its platform.
There are some startups with the similar model in India as well such as Postergully, Cupick and Paintcollar.
