In-Store Beacon Marketing Platform ‘Swirl’ Raises $18M Funding

Swirl, an in-store mobile marketing platform provider that is helping retailers leverage the power of mobile to attract and influence consumers while they shop in retail stores using beacons, has raised a funding of $18 million.

The funding has been raised in series C round which was led by Hearst Ventures and SoftBank Capital, with a new strategic investment from Twitter Ventures and participation from existing investor Longworth Ventures.

The company’s indoor location-based marketing platform allows retailers to deliver highly targeted messages, content and offers to consumer smartphones while they shop in specific areas of the store, according to TechCrunch.

The company was founded in 2011 and has raised $32 million in funding so far.
