Mumbai-based on-demand hyper local consumer services platform DoorMint which provides utility services at people doorstep, has raised angel funding. The round was led by Powai Lake Ventures, and the startup is in talks with VCs to raise the next round very soon.
With the raised funding, the company plans to include more service categories such as laundry services etc. The startup plans to go pan Mumbai soon. Currently, it is having 13 members in its team and plans to increase it to about 40 in three months. The company handles 50-60 bookings per day and aims to achieve 1000 transactions per day within six months.
DoorMint has also launched its app for Android and iOS users. Its current services include on-demand electrician, plumber, carpenter, electronics appliance repair and pest control. By integrating latest technology with operations,
The startup plans to expand rapidly in terms of service area, categories and workforce. It was launched in January 2015 by three ex IITians Naman Lahoty (IITB), Abhinav Agarwal (IITB) and Piyush Ranjan (IITK) to add value to the consumer service space.
It is directly competing with UrbanClap, TimeSaverz, Taskbob, Mr. Right and Zepper, and on the global front Amazon, Thumbtack, Handy, TaskRabbit, and Alfred are in the same segment too.
