American smartphone and gadget maker Apple has registered a sales growth of 42% in India in the fiscal year 2014-2015, compared to previous year. Moreover the company is all set to register net revenue of over $1 billion from India this year.

In the initial stages India wasn’t thought of as a premier market for its products by Apple, which was evident by delay in release of products and lack of customer support within the nation. Over the years India has become one of its fastest growing markets worldwide. Aggressive marketing and easy finance options from Apple can be cited as one of the reasons for the growth.

The company has sold over 1.3 million phones this year over 928,000 phones sold last year, According to ET the reason of increased sales was the launch iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple is yet to reveal figures of revenue to the ministry of corporate affairs, but sources have revealed that the figure is beyond a billion.
