App Maker PhoneWarrior Raises Pre-Series A Round from LightSpeed Venture

PhoneWarrior, a Delhi-based startup which offers an app by the same name to blocks unwanted Calls, SMS & Texts, has raised a pre-series A round of funding from existing investor Lightspeed Venture Partners.

The raised funding will be used for technology development, marketing and to scale up the team. In December 2013, the company had received seed funding of around $550,000 from Lightspeed. The latest round brings the total capital of the firm to date is around $1 million.

The startup has recently added a local search services directory to its mobile number locator app Toost, that helps users find service providers that have been used and recommended by friends. Also, it helps user to search for a phone number and the app will tell the location and name for that phone number. It also offers call blocking functionality, allowing users to block spamming businesses.

Recently, Lightspeed had also backed a similar hyper local services startup LocalOye.com. It had invested $5 million in series A round with participation from Tiger Global.
