Indian fashion focused social network, Roposo.com has raised $5 million in series A investment led by Tiger Global with participation from previous investors, Indian Quotient and Binny Bansal (Co-founder and COO -Flipkart.com). Previously, the company had raised their angel round from India Quotient, 5 ideas Start up SuperFuel and Binny Bansal as an angel investor.
Roposo.com is a fashion discovery platform that allows women to discover and shop new products and trends are liked, curated, personalized and updated every day from across online brands and e-commerce portals. Founded by three IIT Delhi alumni, Mayank Bhangadia, Avinash Saxena (ex CTO of Zomato.com) and Kaushal Shubhank, Gurgaon-based firm now presents fashion choices from across 150 web stores with categories ranging from apparel, to footwear, to accessories and lingerie. All of these products are curated and recommended to each user as per their individual taste.
Also, the company had launched its own app for Android and iOS users. It is also a shopping tool, where users can shop with friends by sharing on WhatsApp or they can organize their future shopping by creating wish-lists. The company’s website claims to have 20 lakh products, 300 partner websites, and has earned 10 lakh in revenue.
It is competing with other product discovery portals such as Yebhi.com, Violetstreet.com, Junglee.com, Klip.in and Fabence among others.
