Two Startups Join VentureNursery’s Seventh Acceleration Program

VentureNursery, an Indian start-up accelerator has announced that two startups – Fixy & Yipeedo have joined their 7th Acceleration program. Over 450 applications were received from multiple cities for the 7th Acceleration program between November 2014 and February 2015.

Both startups have been selected by a panel of VN Angels, after evaluation and interviews with over 450 similar stage business, the main criteria being market potential of the idea, current stage of the venture & the capability of the entrepreneurs behind the idea. These startups have been picked up by a Selection Council comprising of VN Angels Vishal Maheshwari, Samir Shah, and Siddharth Ladsariya.

The sixth session of participating startups are: – Yipeedo is a recommendation engine that uses techniques of cognitive computing and machine learning to build a taste graph for its users. Using this, Yipeedo helps consumers discover activities, such as movies, events, food and much more to do within their city, in a manner that clubs local businesses nearby and is personalized to user taste. Users can also stich a plan that may involve multiple activities using these recommendations. – Fixy has launched an On-Demand Platform for booking Handyman and Home Maintenance Services in India cities. Fixy currently services the Western Suburbs of Mumbai and aims to expand nationally in the next few years.

In the last batch, Venture Nursery had also picked two startups – SaaS solution platform and at-home wellness service provider The Home Salon.

In October 2014, VentureNursery, had announced a seed investment by its angels in HotelsAroundYou, a service provider that allows customers to book quality hotels room at a best price. Also, it had invested in Delhi-based mobile travel marketplace, SeekSherpa in July 2014.
