Newshunt Acquires Mobile Analytics Platform Company Vauntz

India’s home grown news reader app, NewsHunt has acquired mobile analytics platform company Vauntz, for an amount which is not disclosed publicly. As a part of the deal, the Vauntz team will play a crucial role in building the next generation platform for Newshunt.

The Co-Founder and CEO of Vauntz, Shreyas Desai told YourStory that they are looking for more of such acquisitions this year.They have invited all stake holders in the eco-system to partner with them to create new digital content, and get discovered and monetized through the NewsHunt platform.

Vauntz provides a way to collect and share advice on style and fashion. It holds working experience  with Flipkart, Khosla LAbs, Philips and other companies.

Launched in 2010, the app has already hit more than 75 million downloads till date. Last year, it had launched an ebookstore for publishers resulting in over 10 million local language eBooks download, by more than 2 million users, out of which 40% are paid users.

NewsHunt publishes content in 12 languages and covers 100 + regional publications. NewsHunt’s users browse more than 1.7 billion pages each month and it published 25000 + articles daily as per the company. In February this year, the company had secured Rs 250 crore in series C funding led by New York-based hedge fund Falcon Edge Capital with participation from existing investors Matrix Partners India, Sequoia Capital India and Omidyar Network. In September 2014, NewsHunt received $16.5 million in Series B funding.
