Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Monday launched an Android-based customer complaint mobile app and an online portal for users to lodge complaints against problems faced in utilizing services. Soon, the app is expected to be available for Windows phones.
As per an ET report, “About 3 crore passengers will travel in more than 10,000 trains daily, some complaints might come up. So, there should be an effective forum to lodge complaints,” Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said after launching the portal and the App.
Besides registering complaints, people can also use these forums to send suggestions for improving Indian Railways. Passengers can also SMS their complaints on the mobile number (9717630982)and can also download the mobile app app from this URL for registering complaints and sending suggestions.
Complaints will be provided with a unique complaint ID number and complaints can use that number to track progress of complaint. The Customer Complaint Portal will later be available in Hindi and other regional languages. Indian Railways will advertise the portal and app on the social networking sites and other platforms to popularise it.
“One can also send images like dirty linen or whatever one wants to complain about through the system. I am not saying this is the best portal. I am open to suggestions and there can still be improvement of the system,” Suresh said.
